Eavesdropping on all things Berlin related
A few weeks ago, we stumbled upon Katie’s Blue Cat in Neukölln, near the canal. This lovely little cafe/bakery serves goodies like shortbread cookies (try the earl grey), bread pudding muffins and other assorted baked goods. Describing their style as “Anglo-American, from down-south Pecan-Pie to Scottish shortbread, from Kiwi-Aussi Anzacs to very-northern Nanaimo Bars “, they are definitely serving up something unique.
I am always so happy to discover cafes where the owners clearly love their craft, where they avoid offering only the drab Berlin bakery standards, and actually take pride in experimenting and offering guests something a little bit new. And so I love Katie’s Blue Cat. The place is pretty small and gets quite packed on the weekend. But if you can eke out a spot, the atmosphere is laid-back and inviting.
